The Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry is a nationally recognised qualification designed for those seeking a career as a door supervisor in the UK. Completion of this course is a legal requirement before applying for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence, allowing you to work in licensed premises such as pubs, clubs, events, and more.

Who Can Apply

Minimum age: 18 years

Proof of right to work in the UK

English language proficiency: Ability to read, write, speak, and listen in English

First Aid qualification: Must hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate or equivalent before starting this course

A criminal background check (DBS) will be conducted as part of the SIA licence application process

Multiple-choice exams (one per unit)

Practical assessments (for searching individuals, conflict management and physical intervention skills)

Minimum pass mark typically 70% per unit

Some units may require scenario-based or written assignments

All learners undertaking the Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification are required to hold either a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certification or Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification. This qualification will need to have at least 12 months validity until expiry and be provided to the centre prior to the first day of training.

Our door supervisor qualification kicks off with an introduction to the security industry as a whole.

Day 2 begins with completing our witness statements from Day 1 and moving on to the next unit, working as a door supervisor. This unit goes into details of the day-to-day role of a door supervisor.

Day 3 starts with the theoretical knowledge regarding conflict management, followed by our in-depth Unit 2 search practicals.

Our role-play day! This day puts our learners in a variety of different common conflict situations to see them utilise their conflict management techniques they learned from the Unit 3 theory.

Day 5:

With the rise of social media, the safe use of physical intervention is under more scrutiny than ever before. This unit will empower our learners to recognise and utilise the appropriate use of physical intervention.

Our final day! Here we'll finish off any Unit 4 practical videos, followed by a multiple-choice examination for each unit.
